SHIS MUN 2025

Scottish High International School commemorated the tenth edition of its flagship Model United Nations conference, SHISMUN 25’, on August 2nd and 3rd, 2025.

Marking a decade of student-led diplomacy and academic excellence, the conference brought together over 500 delegates to engage in meaningful dialogue across thirteen thoughtfully curated committees. Months of meticulous preparation, led by a driven Secretariat and Organising Committee, alongside steadfast guidance from faculty mentors, culminated in a weekend that showcased the true spririt of collaboration and critical thinking.

SHISMUN’25 was a true embodiment of Scottish High’s ethos – Interrogo, Percipio, Adicio – to question, to understand, and to apply. The conference reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing global citizens who challenge norms and think beyond the ordinary.

True to this spirit, SHISMUN ’25 broke convention with its range of committee experiences, from intense historic recreations like the Battle of Purandar to debates on cryptocurrency crime under UNODC. With a lineup that balanced classical UN bodies and niche councils, the conference offered something for every kind of delegate. First-timers benefited from mentorship programs that paired them with seasoned Executive Board members, while crisis committees kept adrenaline high through real-time updates like those in the Entebbe hijacking simulation.

The second day of Scottish High MUN 2025 witnessed a culmination of rigorous debate, well-drafted resolution papers, and meaningful feedback. Delegates, after a day of collaboration and compromise, brought forth comprehensive resolutions that addressed complex global crises with depth and originality. Each committee reflected the spirit of the United Nations—balancing national interest with collective responsibility. The International Press captured the intensity and nuance of committee proceedings, portraying the added insightful journalistic layer to the conference. Executive board members held post-session feedback rounds, offering personalized insights that helped delegates reflect on their performance and refine their skills.

The Closing Ceremony, held on the evening of 3rd August 2025, was a celebration of effort, intellect, and collaboration. Awards were presented across all committees, acknowledging Best Delegates, High Commendations, and Special Mentions. Scottish High International School was declared the overall Best Delegation with an impressive 39 points. Amity International School, earned the Best School Delegation with 23 points. The ceremony concluded with a powerful closing address by Secretary General Karandheer Gahlot, who thanked the Secretariat, faculty, and participants for making SHISMUN 2025 a resounding success and afinal gavel bang marked the official close of the conference.
