Medical facilities at Scottish High International School:
At Scottish High School, we have a full time resident doctor and five full time Nurses, nutritionist all of whom have worked in emergency departments of reputed hospitals. Two full time nannies also assist the doctor and nurses.
We have a twelve bedded, fully equipped Infirmary with stretchers, wheelchair for evacuation in case of emergency.
The Infirmary is fully equipped with AED, ECG machine, Nebulisers, Inhalers, Ambo Bags, Oxygen Cylinders, Dental Chair, all emergency Medicines available at all times. The Infirmary has a well settled and time tested system of replenishment of all medicines below MSL (Minimum Stock Levels) and also tracks expiry dates.
Scottish High has a formal tie up with the best hospitals in the vicinity of our school (Medanta, Fortis, Artemis, Paras, Max, CK Birla) ), for referrals, emergencies as well as calling for an Ambulance.
First Aid Trainings are organized at regular intervals for Academic, administrative staff including the Bus coordinators.
List of children with medical problems is prepared class wise (based on parents inputs about allergies, asthma, specific medications the child is on) and a copy each is sent to respective class teachers and medical room for quick reference and understanding when a child reports sick.
First aid boxes are placed strategically at 32 locations in school including all the buses.
Apart from this following are the regular medical related activities taken up by the medical department:
Annual Medical check up of all school children.
Growth charts, BMI prepared for children with abnormal percentile and further advise on how to cope with it.
Monthly Sanitary rounds of entire premises.
Monthly Food Handlers’ and Nannies’ Hygiene check.
Lab test for food handlers and Nannies periodically.
Monthly check on Medicine mfg. and expiry dates.
Visiting doctors for education on sex, hygiene, grooming etc.
