A session was organized for Grade IX and X students on profile building. The purpose of profile building activities is to generate a more comprehensive picture on oneself. Mr. Ritesh Jain of Pratham Services explained to the students why grades alone are no longer sufficient for admission to elite universities abroad. While academic performance is the first criterion for making the list, universities must adopt a different strategy when selecting applicants. Mr. Ritesh highlighted few summer programs and research opportunities for the students which they can engage themselves in during the summer vacations. Students gave positive feedback on the session and asked a few questions, such as what are the country-specific profile-building activities, and whether it is better to enroll in a summer program or write a research paper.
