From Saplings to Sustainability: Our Power, Our Planet
This Earth Day, the Highlanders once again demonstrated their unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship under the global theme Our Power, Our Planet.
The students came together to plant the saplings of Ashoka Saraca asoca—an evergreen tree celebrated for its ecological and medicinal value—on the school grounds.
The CMT guided them to adopt eco-friendly habits in their everyday lives. They emphasized the critical role trees play in sustaining life on Earth, while also acting as natural defenses against climate change and biodiversity loss.
The Earth Day event at Scottish High featured a wide range of engaging, sustainability-focused initiatives. Students participated in awareness drives promoting clean energy, highlighted the importance of switching to renewable sources like solar power, and discussed everyday actions such as turning off unused lights and gadgets, using energy-saving modes, and opting for public transport.
Together, we can power a more sustainable tomorrow. 💚🌱
