The MFL Department celebrated Fiesta Nacional de España or the Spanish National Day on Thursday, 12 October 2023. The students from Grade VI to XII participated enthusiastically in the different activities designed for them. All the students learning Spanish wore small Spanish flags indicating their love for the language and appreciating the new culture.
The students made posters of Spain including Food, clothes, monuments etc. and shared amazing facts through posters in Spanish language along with bookmark and card making activities. The students from Grades IV-VIII made bookmarks and posters on the themes like famous food, famous monuments, National parade and Spanish culture depicting what Spanish language means to them. The event also featured activities like Spanish Tambola, fun facts, riddles, and tongue twisters. Intermittently throughout the event, interesting and lesser-known facts about Spain were shared with the participants. These facts covered various aspects of Spanish culture, history, traditions, and geography. Participants found this information both engaging and educational. These activities aimed to engage and entertain participants while providing insights into Spanish culture and language.
The Spanish Day celebration successfully engaged participants in various activities related to Spanish culture and language. The event fostered cultural appreciation and language learning while promoting a sense of community among participants. Future events with similar engaging activities can further enhance the understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures and languages.
