The Interdisciplinary class for Grade XI IB DP
The Interdisciplinary class for Grade XI IB DP integrating subjects from Group 3 and 4 ( ESS, Economics and Computer Science ) was conducted as a part of IB philosophy of teaching and learning. The discussion was very informative and the students were able to understand the prompts further and were able to get viewpoints from all three subjects -ESS, Economics and Computer Science- on issues like Air Pollution, Biodiversity threats and Microeconomics. Students exhibited transfer skills and had detailed discussions about relevant topics such as the AQI in Delhi NCR and the threatened Ethiopian Elephants. Students were able to attain broader perspectives on complex issues and analyze solutions for the same. It also helped them gain knowledge about the prompts from a local and a global context. This approach provided us with a greater connection to the real-world context. Working in groups helped them become effective communicators and present their knowledge in a creative way. It was a great way of learning and applying the concepts, students had already covered to the prompts.
