Once again, students, staff and teachers warmed up for one of the most cherished traditions at Scottish High-The Christmas Carnival-2023.
The one-of-a-kind extravaganza, Christmas Carnival, attracts record-breaking footfall every year. This year too, the Christmas Carnival-2023 revved up with absolute fun and frolic was swarming with students, parents, families and friends, celebrating the joy of festivity.
Action-packed game zones, cubicles of exotic collections, exciting gift items/accessories, finger-licking food stalls, colourful knick-knack stores, dance floor, joy rides, adventure games, mega bumper draws, jumbo jackpot, prizes, and with plenty more, the Christmas Carnival 2023 was a vibrant hotspot of fun, festivity, warmth and togetherness!
The Scottish High prioritizes the holistic development of its students, exemplified by Highlanders embarking on an enriching journey to Bhimtaal and Ranthambore.
In this enjoyable excursion, Grade 9 and 11 students engaged in team-building activities and games fostering a connection with nature, all organized under the supervision of EdTerra.
Annual Day 2023: Kudos to Scottish High International School for orchestrating a truly spectacular Annual Day 2023.
It was a vibe celebrating the all-round growth of Highlanders. Every aspect reflected the dedication and flawless work of the entire school community. ‘Down the Music Lane’ was lit with Western-Indian fusion-songs, skits and breathtaking dance moves.

DIWALI MELA 2023: Once again, Scottish High brimmed with fun and festivity as teachers, staff members, students, and parents bonded together for the mega attraction in the town-The Diwali Mela! The vibrant setting, colourful stalls, decorations, lighting, music, games, lucky draws, joy rides, and lip-smacking food stalls pulled everyone to its refreshing exclusiveness.
Truly, the exuberance, the joy, and delight of Diwali Mela at Scottish High ignites the spirit of festivity that no one can miss!
Dussehra 2023: Highlanders once gathered together to ignite the spirit of festivity as Scottish High celebrated Dussehra at the school premises. With an echo of soulful Bhajans by the Highlanders, all dressed in traditional attire, followed with the lighting of the effigy of ‘Ravana’, the ambience of Scottish High overflowed with the excitement of the occasion. Lit up with fun, fervor and the delight of the celebration, it was truly a visual treat to see Highlanders spiritedly observing the joyous occasion of Vijayadashami.
The MFL Department celebrated Fiesta Nacional de España or the Spanish National Day on Thursday, 12 October 2023. The students from Grade VI to XII participated enthusiastically in the different activities designed for them. All the students learning Spanish wore small Spanish flags indicating their love for the language and appreciating the new culture.
The students made posters of Spain including Food, clothes, monuments etc. and shared amazing facts through posters in Spanish language along with bookmark and card making activities. The students from Grades IV-VIII made bookmarks and posters on the themes like famous food, famous monuments, National parade and Spanish culture depicting what Spanish language means to them. The event also featured activities like Spanish Tambola, fun facts, riddles, and tongue twisters. Intermittently throughout the event, interesting and lesser-known facts about Spain were shared with the participants. These facts covered various aspects of Spanish culture, history, traditions, and geography. Participants found this information both engaging and educational. These activities aimed to engage and entertain participants while providing insights into Spanish culture and language.
The Spanish Day celebration successfully engaged participants in various activities related to Spanish culture and language. The event fostered cultural appreciation and language learning while promoting a sense of community among participants. Future events with similar engaging activities can further enhance the understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures and languages.
Scottish High wins the overall trophy at Pathways School for Sustainability.
Students bagged the first prize in the DesignThinking-Crafting Sustainable Solutions and Second prize in cultural performance integrating SDG 5 on Gender Equality.

The Scottish High fraternity gathered to celebrate the glorious 77th Independence Day. The spirit of patriotism and unity was palpable as students participated in various events and activities to commemorate the historic day of India’s independence from British colonial rule.
The day began with the solemn flag hoisting by the School Principal, a hallmark of Independence Day celebrations. The NCC Cadets marched with their heads held up in pride, followed by the cultural program showcasing the diversity of India. The performances and presentations celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage, beautifully illustrating the message of unity and inclusivity. Young Highlander orators took center stage, delivering passionate speeches about India’s struggle for independence, the sacrifices made by freedom fighters, and the importance of preserving the hard-earned freedom.
The event concluded with a sense of pride for the nation and a commitment to upholding the essence of Independence Day- Equality and Solidarity!
Young learners of Primary Wing showcased their journey of learning to the parents with immense confidence during the Gallery Walk. Students explained in detail their individual and group learning tasks, exhibiting wonderful communication and self- management skills. Taking ownership, the agentic learners were enthusiastic and eager to present the creative display of learning engagements, which was much appreciated by the parents. Parents actively contributed by penning down an attribute of IB Learner Profile developed by their child.
In just 8 years, SHISMUN has risen to great, shining as the brightest star in the MUN Circuit! This year, it was bigger and bolder than ever, with 14 dynamic committees and mind-blowing agendas that left us awestruck!
For 3 months, 200 enthusiastic students and staff had poured their hearts into creating an unforgettable event.
With 700+ delegates from 40 schools nationwide, including cities like Chandigarh, Jaipur, Indore, and Mumbai, SHISMUN 2023 became the ultimate platform for young leaders to thrive!
And that’s not all! The event went global, welcoming delegates from Rwanda and the United States of America, adding an international flair to the conference!
The event was a big success, preparing the leaders of the future!
Focusing on the Social and Emotional well-being of young Highlanders, the School Counsellor conducted a session on Behaviour and Conduct emphasizing the importance of being mindful in their actions.
An interactive session was held by a Guest Speaker, highlighting the issues of climate change and marine pollution through interesting stories.
On the occasion of French National Day, also known as the ‘Bastille Day’ (Friday, July 14, 2023), to promote cross cultural knowledge and linguistic diversity among the learners, various activities were conducted during the French language lessons.
Learners virtually travelled to France and visited the city of Paris to get a glimpse of the renowned Bastille Day parade, its sounds and sights.
They acquired knowledge about the iconic French Revolution through stories and videos shared by the facilitator and later demonstrated their understanding by creating cards, posters etc. they also shared interesting facts, tongue twisters and cultural knowledge about France.
Quizzes were also taken to assess their knowledge in an interesting manner.
They also honed their communication skills by listening to the French National Anthem ‘La Marseillaise’ and tried speaking it.
The primary learners dressed up in tricolor of France (blue, white, red). They were creative and innovative to mix and match their outfits to create the flag resemblance.
The French facilitators were also dressed consciously in tricolor to keep the enthusiasm and lead by example.
This celebration indeed gave an opportunity to the learners to become innovative, confident and reflective, as well as cultivate international mindedness and growth mindset in them.
At Scottish High, the students assert their identity as all-rounders throughout the year. Their landmark success in academics, sports & other holistic platforms leaves no doubt about their holistic brilliance.
In a first, Scottish High hosted ‘The Torch Bearers of Education Fraternity’ 2023-An initiative to honour the visionary education stalwarts for their revolutionary contributions to the field of education.
A brilliant intersection of educationists, visionaries and education trailblazers, the felicitation ceremony invited Mr Stuart Dobson- the renowned Education Improvement Adviser, as the Guest of Honour, a host of dignitaries and School Heads of prestigious Preschools cut across Gurgaon as recipients for the coveted award-The Torch Bearer of Education Fraternity-2023.
With a multicoloured presentation by Highlanders, the event also brought under the spotlight the Star Alumni-Ranveer Singh Saini, who recently won Gold Medal at the Special Olympics World Games, held in Berlin. Ranveer and his mentor Mr Anitya Chand were proudly felicitated by the Scottish High fraternity.
In addition, the proud Highlander, the author-Ms Stuti Khanna also took centre stage as her book ‘The Flying Colours of India-Against all Odds’ was proudly launched amidst a round of cheers.

THE GOLD MEDALISTS AT SPECIAL OLYMPICS, WORLD GAMES-2023
Immense pride and patriotism filled the ambience of Scottish High as Ranveer Singh Saini, the Alumni Highlander, and his Unified Partner Rahul Agarwal arrived at the Scottish High premises along with a cavalcade of fans cheering the Olympians for their spectacular Gold Medal win at the Special Olympics, World Games, Berlin, 2023.
Welcoming the duo Olympians with a roar, the students and the entire Scottish High fleet came together to express their admiration for their Champion, Ranveer Singh Saini. Hundreds of fans at the entrance culminated at the swarming auditorium, where Ranveer and his unified partner were ceremoniously felicitated. The ceremony also honoured Ranveer’s Coaches Mr Mukesh Kumar and Mr Anitya Chand, whose contributions play a pivotal role in shaping Ranveer as the champion.
The felicitation, marked with a victory song by the School Choir, speeches and an inspirational visual of Ranveer’s incredible journey, showcased his remarkable feats on the leaderboard and his great triumph at the Special Olympics, World Games-Berlin.
What was even more overwhelming was the stimulating address by Ranveer, as he took to the podium to acknowledge the love and the warm reception and shared a few accounts of his arduous journey, inspiring everyone with his ‘never say never’ persona.
It is worth highlighting that Ranveer has made a hat trick with his Gold Medal win at the Special Olympics, World Games in Berlin. Earlier, he won Gold Medal at the Special Olympics, World Games, Los Angeles in 2015 and Silver Medal at the Special Olympics, World Games, Abu Dhabi in 2019.
Truly, Ranveer’s extraordinary wins in the World Games have fired up inspiration all over the world!
Team India (Special Olympics- Bharat), Ranveer Singh Saini (Our Ex-student and now our Faculty member) & Rahul Agrawal won the GOLD medal at the Special Olympics World Games held at Berlin , Germany.
Team India played four rounds of golf for 4 days at the Arnold Parmer Course Berlin and were on the top of the Leaderboard on all the four days. They had a record breaking lead of 18 shots and won the Championship beating 20 teams of the World including US, UK, UAE, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Netherlands, France to name a few.
Well done to Team India – Ranveer and Rahul. You have indeed made India proud.🌟🇮🇳
Ranveer is a 11 times National Champion, 4 times Asia Pacific Champion and has has a rare feat of a HAT TRICK to win 3 medals for India at three consecutive World Games.(2015, 2019 & 2023).
He is also a 5 times Limca Book of records holder.

After all, every great achievement is but a small peak in the mountain range of contributions, hence making it significant to acknowledge every feat, because before you know it, your small wins lead to big accomplishments.
In Sync with this, Scottish High felicitated exemplary performers after Unit Cycle I, to recognise the hard work, and dedication of the meritorious highlanders by conferring them with scholar badge to boost their morale and encourage others to reach their desired aim. More than 50 students were adjudged with Gold, Silver and Bronze badges from Grade X and XII, by the Primary School Director and School Principal.
Reckoned to be a clean sweep, the Highlanders, with their stunning performance at the 26th Gurugram District Taekwondo Championship- 2023, outmanoeuvred their rivals by winning 8 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals & 9 Bronze Medals.
With an outstanding performance in the ISC BOARD EXAMINATIONS, 2022-23, our Star Highlanders have made their mark in the hall of fame by attaining a phenomenal 100 per cent result for the 18th consecutive year!
National Education and Human Resource Development Organisation,Maharashtra organised an “All India Swachh Bharat Art Competition” last year where more than 300 Schools from all over India participated in the competition. Scottish High International School was in the top 20 schools. At State level, our 11 students got selected, they received a trophy and a medal for the same. On the other hand, Divva Chopra 4C, Ms. Amitta Gahallot (HOD Performing Arts), Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva (School Principal) received the National Excellence Award at National Conference 2023, a Grand Award Ceremony of achievement in the NATIONAL LEVEL OF “ALL INDIA SWACHH BHARAT ART COMPETITION 2022-23” held on Saturday 13th May 2023 at Mumbai-Maharashtra.
The young Highlanders of the Initial Years were seen in action all through the month of April. Brimming with confidence, the young Highlanders participated in different learning experiences with aplomb! From Home visits to celebrating Earth Day and interaction with the parents in the first PTM, the month was truly action packed! Here’s a sneak peek into the fun filled month!
Ranveer Singh Saini and his mother Mrs Bakhtawar Sani, both Scottish Highlanders, teamed up for the Amway Nutrilite Golf Tournament and came first in their category. In addition , Ranveer also won the longest putt competition and Ms Bakhtawar won the closest to pin competition.
With aims to raise environmental awareness and inspire others to take action towards environmental protection to address global challenges, Highlanders celebrated Earth Day with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. On the eve of Earth Day, School Principal Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva and Senior School Head Mrs. Isha Verma planted the saplings of Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) also known as Indian Gooseberry in the school premises. While interacting with the students, School Principal Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva motivated the students to plant trees and celebrate each day as Earth Day. He also emphasized the benefits of trees to our everyday lives. Other than providing food, they filter clean air, provide fresh drinking water, help curb climate change, and create homes for thousands of species of plants and animals and help save the Earth from climate change and biodiversity loss. Some of the event’s key focus areas include climate action, environmental education, social impact, pollution, global warming, conservation and restoration. Activities like class discussions, screening of videos, and poster making and creating useful items with waste, e-waste collection were conducted in the school.
Keeping with the tradition of Scottish High, the teachers making it a point to visit their students’ homes to enhance a closer bond between the school and home for a smooth transition and to help the little ones settle well in the new environment!

Scottish High International School-the Unified Champion School, in collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat, hosted the National Championship-2023. The championship included three events-Badminton, Roller skating and Cycling, with scores of special needs athletes participating from across the country.
Dr Mallika Nadda, Chairperson-Special Olympics Bharat, Sh. Om Prakash Dhankar, President-BJP Haryana Pradesh, Sh. Om Prakash Yadav, Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice & Empower, and Dr Kamal Gupta, Hon’ble Minister of Urban Local Bodies, graced the occasion as Chief Guests, thus making the championship a nationwide highlight.
The grand felicitation ceremony honoured the star performers/coaches in different categories and acknowledged all the special needs athletes’ inspirational performance and participation.
Marking the collaboration of Scottish High and Special Olympics Bharat as momentous, Dr Cdr Kartikay Saini thanked all the guests, dignitaries, participants, coaches and volunteers for making the event a grand success.
Little Highlanders (Initials Wing) set the ball rolling as they joined the new academic session, already in full swing with Primary and Senior students on board!
With the backdrop of an animated setting, the ceremonial bagpiper band and the entourage of parents, teachers and staff, the first day of the Initials Wing was a perfect preview of the fun, learning and warmth awaiting little ones.
A great start to the new academic session as Highlanders (Grades I to XII) arrived at School with their happy, smiling faces.
Warmly greeted by the School Chairman, the School Principal, the Primary School Director and Scottish High staff. There was cheer and jubilance amidst a beautifully decked up ambience with the escort of the pipe band, the Highlanders’ first day at School had all the bidding of a red carpet welcome.
A flying start to the day, ushering Highlanders and the entire Scottish High fraternity into an eventful academic year ahead!
A landmark moment for Scottish High International School as the school hosted the prestigious Indo-Japanese Collaborative Meet on 28th March 2023 by warmly welcoming the Japanese students’ delegation from Bunka Gakuen Daigaku Suginami Junior & Senior High School. Also, a matter of immense pride for the country as Scottish High is selected as one of the Best World Indian Schools to be visited by the Japanese delegation of students.
Offering a perfect prelude to the meet was the traditional welcome ceremony by Scottish High students, followed by a welcoming address by the School Principal, Dr Sanjay Sachdeva and a School presentation providing a glimpse into the life and tradition at Scottish High International School. The delegates along with the crew were then taken on a guided tour of the school to get an insight into the holistic learning culture and environment at Scottish High. A friendly tug-a-war game with mixed teams was also organised to develop the spirit of solidarity and teamwork, followed by a camaraderie lunch for all the delegates, volunteers and team members.
Making the event monumental, Dr Cdr Kartikay Saini-Chairman, Scottish High International School, addressed the delegates and volunteers and presented them with the Scottish High Souvenirs and Certificates. The meeting further pinnacled with the warm exchange of memorabilia between Scottish High and the Japanese students before culminating into a warm farewell.
A buoyant intersection of culture, values and ideas, the Indo-Japanese collaborative meet at Scottish High not only marks the dawn of a new era in cross-cultural learning experience but also envisions its students as the potential envoys in strengthening bilateral ties with their overseas partner.
A landmark point in the education field as Dr Cdr Kartikay Saini-Chairman, Scottish High International School, was invited to deliver an address at Oxford University, UK. A proud moment for the country as he is the first to receive the prestigious invitation as the Chairman of a School from India.
Emerging from the cocoon of their Primary Years, our Grade V students are now ready to spread their wings as they head into Middle School! The Graduation Ceremony, held on 15th and 16th March 2023 at SHIS, was marked by the joy and excitement of new beginnings. We wish them all the very best!
An exclusive network session hosted by Scottish High brought together parents of Grade 10-12 and School Alumni all under one roof. Connecting with Alumni over coffee, parents gathered interesting insights about colleges across the world and understood the nuances of successful college applications, cutting-edge SoP(s), student life in college and placements.
A positive platform ensuring a positive outcome, the Alumni Network Session with its rich and dynamic content made a prominent mark on the list of School’s stand out events every year. Certainly, with so much to digest, it warrants a repeat!
