1. What is the Age Criteria being followed at Scottish High?
A:  The minimum age of the child as on 31st March 2026 is as follows:
Nursery 3 years and above
L K G 4 years and above
U K G 5 years and above and so on…

2. When is the registration opening?
A:  Registration for the Academic Session 2026–27 is tentatively scheduled to open by the end of July.
The exact dates will be announced soon.

3. How do we register for admission?
A:   Registrations can be done both online and offline:

  • Online: Online registration via our website – www.scottishigh.com.
  • Offline: Visit the school reception between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM to complete the registration in person.

4. What are the charges for Registration?
A: Rs 3000/-(Three Thousand rupees only) – Non- Refundable

5. What is the process of admission?
A: Admission in Scottish High International School is purely based on seat availability. However, siblings of existing students would be given priority. Applicants along with their parents will be invited to school for a Document Verification Process (depending on seat availability). After this stage the parent will be intimated about the next step via email/call.

6. What is the admission process for Grade-KG and above?
A: You will have to register online or offline. Admissions will be offered on withdrawal vacancy as per seat availability.

7. When will the Document verification process begin?
A: The online document verification process will begin within 3-4 days after the registration opens.

8. I am a SHIS sibling parent, do I get any preference?
A: Yes, your ward will be given priority in offer of admission.

9. When do we have to pay the fees if admission is offered?
A: The Admission Fee (Non-Refundable) and Security Deposit (Refundable) are to be paid upon completion of the admission process. The payment must be made within 48 hours of receiving the Offer Letter.

10. Do I have to pay the complete fee including the quarter fees at the time of admission?
A: At the time of admission, you will be asked to pay only the one-time non-refundable Admission fee and the refundable security deposit to secure the admission.

11. What are the school timings?
A: Nursery to KG: 8am-1pm
Grade I and above: 8am-4pm

12. What is the student teacher ratio for classes Nursery & Above?
A: 25 students with 2 teachers and 1 Nanny in Nursery & LKG. The 25-student strength per section is maintained even in higher classes. The whole school student teacher ratio is 12:1.

13. What is the syllabus content in Initials?
A: The syllabus of Initial Chapter encompasses learning of Languages, Numeracy, concepts of Science and Social Studies, Performing and Visual Art, Personal, Social and Physical Education. All these subjects are integrated into transdisciplinary learning under different units of inquiry as per the IB Primary Years Program.

14. How does a typical day of Initial Chapter look like?
A: A typical day of Initial School starts with seeking the blessings of Almighty. Their daily schedule is quite exciting with the following interesting and relevant experiences- Joy Ride on Horse, Splash Pool, Learning about different concepts of English and Hindi languages, Numeracy, Science and Social Studies focused units which are integrated with Music, Dance, Physical and Social education and attributes of the IB Learner Profile.

15. How is the day planned for Grade I -V?
A: Students of Grade I-V also follow the IBPYP curriculum. They have a spread-out schedule where transdisciplinary approach is followed. Besides academics all students are exposed to various disciplines like Swimming, Skating, Soccer, Cricket, Tennis, Basketball, Golf ,Yoga, Taekwondo, Judo, Indoor activities like Performing and Visual Arts – Western Music, Indian Music, Dance, Art and Craft, Riffle Shooting which is also built in their schedule.

16. What are the various curricula available in Scottish High?
A: IB Primary Years Program (IBPYP) for Nursery to Grade V
Cambridge for Grades VI to X
IB Diploma Program and IB Career Program for Grades XI & XII
The National Curriculum (ICSE) for Grades VI to X & ISC for Grades XI & XII

17. Will someone be available to assist us in understanding the curriculum before/after admission, if we need help?
A: Yes, absolutely! Should you require support post-admission, curriculum coordinators for all boards—IB-PYP, IBDP, IBCP, ICSE, and Cambridge—will be available to assist you upon prior appointment.

18. What are the different languages options available in Scottish High?
A: Up to Grade 3, English and Hindi are compulsory. From Grade 4 onwards, students can choose a third language from the following options: German, Sanskrit, Spanish, or French.

19. How easy is the transition from IB PYP to ICSE/Cambridge in sixth standard?
A: The curriculum in Grade V is thoughtfully designed to ensure a smooth transition to either Cambridge or ICSE in Grade VI. Students are gradually familiarized with the expectations of both curricula.

20. Are there any Orientations for parents?
A: Yes, Scottish High conducts regular orientation programs to keep parents informed and involved at key stages of their child’s academic journey. These include:

  • At-Home Orientation for new parents at the start of the academic year
  • Grade I Orientation to introduce the transition into Primary School
  • Grade III Orientation to assist in choosing an additional language
  • Grade V Orientation to help parents understand the curriculum options (Cambridge or ICSE) for Middle School
  • Grade VI–XII Orientations, tailored to curriculum-specific updates, academic planning, and college readiness

These sessions ensure parents are well-equipped to support their child’s learning and make informed decisions.

21. Is the faculty trained for the different curriculum?
A: Yes, all faculty members are fully trained and certified to teach their respective curricula.

22. How often does the school conduct workshops & training for staff?
A: Professional development at Scottish High is a continuous and ongoing process. Workshops, training sessions, and curriculum-specific certifications are conducted throughout the year to ensure that staff stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and best practices.

23. What is the level of student involvement in activities and competitions?
A: At Scottish High, students actively participate in a wide range of co-curricular and competitive
activities designed to nurture their talents and build confidence. These include:

  • Weekly Intra-Class Competitions
  • Inter-Clan Competitions
  • School-hosts flagship events such as:
    • SHISMUN (Model United Nations)
    • SHIS TECH (Technology Fest)
    • SHIS FEST (Cultural Festival)
    • Sports Fiesta

Highlanders also represent the school at State, National, and International levels, consistently earning accolades in various domains.
In addition, students regularly participate in National and International Olympiads, showcasing academic excellence.

24. Does the child get an opportunity to specialize in any activity?
A: Yes, from Grade VI onwards, students are given the opportunity to specialize in activities based on their interests. They can choose:

  • One outdoor activity
  • One indoor activity

Each of these is scheduled for 2 hours per week, allowing focused skill development. Additionally, the school offers a dedicated “Zero Period” of 45 minutes daily for specialized training in selected activities, ensuring consistent practice and growth.

25. Does the school offer any club activities and are they chargeable?
A: Yes from grade VI onwards a wide range of club activities are offered to the students like the Model United Nations {M.U.N.} Club, Home Science, Creative Writing & Book Club, Calligraphy & Art Club, Self Defense & Contortion, Rhythmic Club, Formula 1 (Paid), Photography (Paid), Shooting (Paid), Astronomy(Paid) etc to name a few.

26. Does the school offer NCC?
A: Yes, Scottish High is proud to offer NCC (National Cadet Corps) training for both boys and girls ( Grade VI onwards), fostering discipline, leadership, and a spirit of national service among students.

27. Does the school offer any remedial classes?
A: Yes, the school provides remedial classes to support students who require additional academic assistance.

  • For Grades VI–VIII, remedial sessions are conducted during the Zero Period.
  • For Grades IX–XII, they are held post 2:00 PM and during Zero Period.

The school also has a dedicated Remedial Department that works closely with students to address specific learning needs and help them strengthen their understanding.

28. What is the morning assembly system at SHIS?
A: Yes, morning assemblies are an integral part of the school’s ethos. Both physical and electronic assemblies are conducted regularly as part of the daily routine.
Students are actively encouraged to showcase their individual talents, such as public speaking, singing, playing instruments, and more, making assemblies a platform for expression, confidence building, and value-based learning.

29. Does the school organize picnics or field trips for students?
A: Yes, the school regularly organizes picnics, field trips, and camps as part of experiential learning and
overall development. These include:

  • Day trips/picnics for the Initial School
  • Overnight camps in school for Grades I & II
  • 2-night, 3-day excursions for Grades III & IV
  • 3-night, 4-day trips/camps for Grade VI and above
  • Additionally, the school offers International Camps to provide global exposure.

Participation in these trips is voluntary, but students are strongly encouraged to take part, as they offer valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom.

The school also has a dedicated Career Counselling Department to guide students through the process of college selection, applications, and admissions—ensuring they are well prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.

31. How does the school partner/collaborate with parents?
A: At Scottish High, we believe in a strong school-home partnership to support every child is learning journey. We engage with parents through a variety of initiatives, including:

  • Front Desk Programs: Gallery Walks and Reading Programs: Expert Talks, Exhibitions: Annual Day: Monkey Business: At-Home Orientation and Home Visits.

To ensure continuous communication:

  • Teachers maintain a WhatsApp broadcast group to share regular updates.
  • The school conducts around 4–5 formal Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) annually for structured discussions on progress and development.

These efforts keep parents well informed, involved, and aligned with the child’s learning needs both at school and at home.

32. Where can I check the school food menu?
A: The school menu is available on the school website. It is updated weekly.

A: Home food is discouraged. The school provides the students with wholesome, balanced and fresh meals. Initial Chapter students are served breakfast and from Grade I and above breakfast, lunch and evening milk is served to all students. The detailed menu of the week is put up on the school website every week. The school has a food committee, which meets every 2 months. The participants are one of the CMT member, teachers, student council representatives, student’s representatives from primary, middle and senior school, doctor and dietician, GM Estate and Executive Chef.

34. Do we have access to CCTV in buses and classrooms?
A: For the safety of the students and staff, CCTV system is in place at all vantage points throughout the school and in front and rear in school buses and is consistently monitored by competent personnel during school hours.

35. Can we have access to the GPS tracking of school bus?
A: YES, parents do get the limited access to GPS of their child’s bus route.

36. How do you handle transport for Initial Chapter?
A: All buses have a lady transport coordinator in addition to a trained conductor and a driver. Their credentials are police verified. Every bus is equipped with CCTV, GPS, GPS Tracker, first aid box and fire extinguisher.

37. What are the security measures taken by the school in school bus and in school premises?
A: Security does not only mean to secure the child/staff from external threats but also to ensure safety measures within the school premises. Every individual coming to the school is the responsibility of the school and we take this as a challenge. Scottish High is one of the few institutions to have 3-tier security system in the school. This system is duly supported by the manual guarding as well as CCTV coverage of the premises. All buses have a lady transport coordinator in addition to a trained conductor and a driver. Their credentials are police verified. Every bus is equipped with CCTV, GPS, GPS Tracker, first aid box and fire extinguisher. There are SOPs and are rigorously followed and audited internally as well as externally for compliance.

38. How do we handover students during dispersal?
A: Students are handed over to the parents/guardians carrying the Authorization Card issued by the school. This is a mandatory requirement; no child will be allowed to leave the school premises without checking the Authorization Card of the person who has come to collect the child. This is applicable for handing over of transport users too for Grade nursery to Grade V.

39. Are the initial school students escorted for any movements outside the class?
A: Yes, young students are always escorted by a teacher and a nanny for any movement outside the
classroom to ensure their safety and supervision.

40. Are the nannies, cleaners, housekeeping staff on school rolls?
A: The housekeeping staffs including the nannies are through certified professional agencies for ensuring well-groomed trained staff with proper relieving at all times. The staff is strictly screened for background checks (police verification), health checks (periodical medical tests), knowledge, experience and training for their role in the department. Additionally, they are made to undergo periodical checks and regular training workshops to keep enhancing their ability to perform tasks given to them.
