Scottish High, with its well-defined academic standards, focuses on the well-rounded growth of students. Employing the learner attributes of PYP through different leadership roles and responsibilities is the most effective way to build them comprehensively.
With this as central, the Junior Student Council Members for the academic year 2023-24 were elected in a formal Investiture Ceremony. The young council members were ready now to take on new roles, duties and responsibilities as Primary Clan Prefect, Cultural Prefect and Sports Prefect.
Defying the leadership age bar with their new titles and designations, the young Highlanders perfectly endorsed-ITS NEVER TOO EARLY TO START AS LEADERS!
On the 21st of April 2023, the Investiture Ceremony for the student council of Scottish High International School was held with much excitement and anticipation. The event was attended by Dr. Cdr Kartikay Saini, the Chairman of the school, the Core Management Team, students, teachers, and parents in the school auditorium.
The ceremony commenced with the students singing a beautiful song, followed by a mesmerizing classical dance performance by the Highlanders, showcasing their fluid movements. The proud parents were then invited to the stage to adorn their children with sashes, representing their respective posts. The outgoing school council members handed over their responsibilities to the incoming members, and the new head boy, Akarsh Jain, and head girl, Atvika Gaur, administered the oath of office. The new members pledged to uphold the school’s values and fulfil their duties with sincerity and dedication.
Dr. Cdr Kartikay Saini, in his address, applauded the rank holders, emphasizing the significance of diligence and focus in achieving one’s goals. He also congratulated the new student council and urged them to work hard and maintain the school’s values, leaving a lasting impression that the juniors will take pride in following. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the school song and the national anthem. It was an unforgettable event, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the school’s history. The new council members are now prepared to take on their responsibilities and make a positive impact on the school community.
To make a place in the world, one must fight for it. To lead, one must also understand what it takes to follow. Our student leaders have moved closer to their aim, Inch by Inch, and reached their finest hour.
A Scottish clan is a kinship group among the Scottish people. A Clan gives a sense of shared identity to its members. Similarly, At Scottish High, we have four clans, named after four clans in Scotland – Anderson, Boyd, Lamont and Macarthur.
Scottish High International School held the Investiture Ceremony of the Senior School Clan Captains for the year 2022-23 on Friday, the 5th of August 2022, in the school amphitheatre.
It was attended by the school School Director, Ms. Sudha Goyal, the Senior School Principal, and Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva. The ceremony commenced with rendering of melodious songs sung by the students.
The esteemed School Director were then called upon the stage to bestow upon the new clan captains the sashes for their respective posts. It indeed was a moment that was inspirational which was the first step in the right direction for the appointed leaders to pursue their goals and dreams in the coming future. The chosen Highlanders will impart their duties honestly and without being biased while keeping in mind the values upheld by the school and keeping the School Flag soaring high.
It was a spectacular moment which was witnessed by one and all to see the newly appointed council as they stood on stage with flags and sashes, taking the oath. The oath of office was administered by the head girl and head boy.
Once again, the academic year 2022-23 calls out the new brigade of Highlanders to step to the fore as the new student council. With titles like Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputies, General Sec. Sports Captain, Cultural Cap and the like, the students will now be wielding leadership in different cores. At the Investiture Ceremony that noted a large gathering of parents, teachers and students, the school cabinet elect exuded the statement boldly- IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY TO BE A LEADER.
A significant milestone for the Students’ Council and for the entire Scottish High fraternity as the School conducted the Investiture ceremony online with great enthusiasm and commitment. School Chairman Dr Cdr Kartikay Saini and School Director Ms Sudha Goyal graced the occasion with their inspiring presence and encouraged the students by reflecting on the values, ethos and vision of the School. It was a great day for the Students Council members to take the pledge and be elected as the leaders and models of excellence!
The litmus test is over. The list is out and Scottish High has once again given a fresh mandate. The new task force of leaders- Head Boy, Head Girl, the new student council, brandishing their honour and pride.
A low key online affair this year, however, the magnitude of Investiture Ceremony powered a new narrative of inspiration for Scottish High fraternity.
Emotions ran high as parents watched their graduating wards making way for the new Head Boy, Head Girl, and the new student council. With reverb of oath filling the hall, flags, sashes and the beaming pride, the ceremony had all the makings of a mega celebration. And yes, the ‘must not miss’ presence of Chairman Dr. Cdr Kartikay Saini and the Director Ms. Sudha Goyal, lit up inspiration all around!
Leadership is all about taking responsibilities and Scottish High always takes giant strides in creating leaders right from the inception. Keeping this as the fundamental, this year too the Investiture Ceremony set the stage for young zealous Highlanders to come to the fore and be the flag bearers for the new frontiers.
Scottish High International School held the Investiture Ceremony of the Student Council for the year 2016-17 on Tuesday the 12th of July, in the school auditorium. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman Dr. Cdr. Kartikay Saini, school Director Mrs. Sudha Goyal and the parents. The ceremony commenced with a dance performance by the students. The School Director addressed the audience and shared the details about the fair procedure followed by the school in the selection of these students. Thereafter, the graduating student council was invited to hand over the flags and their responsibilities to the newly selected council members. The proud parents were then called upon the stage to confer upon their wards the sashes and the badges for their respective posts. The sight of the new student council, on the stage, with their flags, sashes and badges, taking the oath of responsibility was truly graceful and mesmerizing. The oath was administered by the new Head Girl and the new Head Boy. The ceremony came a close after the Chairman’s speech. He congratulated the proud parents as well as the new student council. He said that this is the best and the most unique student council in the history of Scottish High and the council members have set a benchmark for the other students to follow. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the school song and the National Anthem.
